Western New York's Largest Supplier of Reclaimed & Surplus Building Material

Job Opening: STORE ASSOCIATE/WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE

We’re looking for a STORE ASSOCIATE/WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE

For over a decade now, ReUse Action has been reclaiming lumber, insulation and building materials and selling these materials to the public. We’re hoping to identify a candidate to join our retail team as a Store Associate.

The ideal candidate will have experience in retail environments, experience with building materials, and a desire to support our mission of increasing the reuse and reclamation of building materials. Additionally, warehouse experience, with forklifts and racking, is a must.

This position will be 35-40 hours per week, including Saturdays.

The successful candidate would be joining an experienced team of staff who’ve been with ReUse Action from the beginning. We have a depth of knowledge and experience accrued over the years and we’re excited to expand our knowledge base with a new staff member. We attribute the success of our company to the ownership, experience, and leadership of our current employees. Every team member brings a diverse set of skills and experiences to strengthen the team and we’re eager to find another passionate contributor.

ReUse Action has been in operation since January 2011, with our core team working together since 2007. In addition to reclaiming materials and running our storefront, we have a ReUse Builders division, doing new construction and rebuilding efforts throughout Western New York, focused on older buildings and incorporating reclaimed materials.

The ideal candidate should be passionate about material reuse and recycling and eager to share that passion with customers and the public.

Daily responsibilities of the Store Associate/Warehouse Associate at ReUse Action would include the following:

• Assist with store organization and presentation of materials.
• Assist customers with individual purchases.
• Work with the store team to research and set pricing of reclaimed materials.
• Manage the intake of reclaimed materials from the general public and our salvage team, and assist as needed with material processing and pricing.
• Operate the Point of Sale system and other computer system.
• Perform basic store maintenance and safety, including but not limited to: cleaning, organizing, protection of merchandise, safety for store staff and the public, and store security.
• Work in our warehouse, with forklift, racking systems and other material handling systems, to organize and sell bulk products, including rigid foam insulation.
